Another great day at Border Woodturners, the return of our old friend Andrew Hall saw a good turnout from club members.

Well, another Sunday at BWT and another great day! The members and visitors were entertained and educated once again, this time by well known turner Simon Hope.

Having seen Mick Hanbury demo a number of times we were expecting a good show and we were not disappointed in any way!

Our youngest member James Costin opened the days demonstrations turning a hollow formed laburnum with a contrasting lid of purple heart. James described his technique and showed how different hollowing tools could be used as the hollowing work progressed. The form was approx 175mm high and 125mm in diameter. this was completed at a suitable point for lunch.

Twenty five members braved the snow to to enjoy a day with Richard Kennedy. After a warm (pardon the pun!) from Dave our Chairman Richard started on a part pre turned small hollow form and he showed how to enhance the appearance with coloured stains, blending purple, red and yellow with a hint of light blue at the end.
