This week we have an assortment of news and updates to help keep you going and up to date throughout this period.
Zoom Meeting: 6th July 2020
The Zoom meetings continue to be popular and well attended...though mostly by turners from outside of Border Woodturners (hint, hint!).
The last meeting was no exception and despite some technical issues we managed to have a few laughs.
We looked at bowl gouges and the latest monster lump of wood (see photo) to arrive in one members workshop. You can read more about that on this link:
We heard from Kevin Purdy and Kevin McAlister who both showed us splendid new work.
We will be hearing more from members this Monday so why not give it a go.
You can register for the sessions by clicking here:
Pat Carroll: Remote Demonstration
A gentle reminder for you all that Pat is doing a remote demonstration on Sunday 12th July at 7pm.
You can learn how Pat makes pieces such as the one shown here for around the price of a fish supper.
You can buy a ticket from Pat's website here:
Meet the turner: Andrew Hall
Following on from the very popular session featuring Jimmy Clewes the next "Meet the turner" session will feature Andrew Hall.
This session will take place on Sunday 19th July.
These sessions are free to attend, to find out more simply send an email to
Phil Irons: Remote Demonstration
We have another demonstration happening in the coming week, this time by well known demonstrator Phil Irons.
Phil will be demonstrating how he makes Caddy Spoons on 14th July at 5pm. Tickets are £10 and you can sign up at Phil's website here:
AAW Virtual Symposium
Just a quick note on the symposium happening this weekend. If you have not signed up then sorry but registrations are now closed.

Looks like a good weekend ahead, see you in Zoom!!
Lastly some club points:
