Welcome to our website, we hope that you will find it useful. Our aim is to promote Woodturning whether you are a complete beginner through to a professional, everyone is welcome and their input valued. We have members from a wide area along the Border, from Dumfries, North Northumberland, the Tyne Valley, Carlisle and District.

We meet once a month in the Brampton Community Centre, Sundays are all day sessions(usually with a visiting demonstrator) or on a Thursday evening which are usually member led nights. There is a monthly competition which is open to all club members. We encourage anyone interested in becoming a member to come along and meet us. The Club has a friendly atmosphere and there is always someone available to provide advice and encouragement, Woodturning has to be fun!

Members had a very interesting and enjoyable day with our guest demonstrator Margaret Garrard.

In the morning she turned an ash bowl and then set up her router and inserted 7 pieces of walnut equally spaced around the bowl which when finished were able to be seen both on the inside and on the outside. She provided a very detailed description on how to set up the project and tips to avoid problems.

After lunch she created a bud vase with different examples of surface decoration again with many hints and tips much to the enjoyments of the members present.

To finish the day a napkin ring was turned with attention to detail of the finished piece.

Margaret was thanked for he demonstrations by Club Vice Chairman Malcolm Ferguson
